How to organize a student’s workplace

Concentration

It’s hard to focus on lessons when your favorite toys are nearby – just reach out. We’ll have to remove them from the field of view – the play area and the student’s workplace should not touch. Bright posters and applications are best placed out of the student’s field of vision, for example, on the opposite wall. To enhance the separation effect, the study area can be “cut off” from the play area of the room using a shelving unit or decorative divider.  This does not mean that the atmosphere at the desk should be Spartan. Color-matched stationery, containers, boxes and paper trays can be responsible for the aesthetic design.

A favorite of children and parents is a slate board in the nursery. It can become a transitional link between the play and work area, make the educational process more fun, and the design more interesting.

Light of knowledge

The student’s workplace needs good access to natural light. To provide comfortable lighting, the window should be on the left if the student is right-handed, or on the right if the child is left-handed.

If there is no room for a full-fledged study area in the room, you can mount a compact folding table on the wall. If there are two schoolchildren, and there is one room, you can place tables in a row, or, if the footage allows, use the same extended window sill for these purposes. Tables can also be installed opposite each other, or with the letter “G”, the main thing is that the window is nearby.

Simple math

Having figured out the location of the table, you still need to determine its height. The student is comfortable when the edge of the table is one to two centimeters below the level of his chest in a sitting position. An “adult” table with a standard height of 75 centimeters is suitable only for schoolchildren whose height has already jumped over the 150 centimeters mark.

What are the requirements for a chair? There should be a back, so as not to harm the posture, ideally anatomical, the feet of the child should touch the floor, and the knees should be bent at an angle of 90 °. The best choice is a height-adjustable chair

Mood color

The study area does not have to look like a prison cell with bare gray walls, a bright shade may be present. Some psychologists even recommend using orange, yellow or red in order to increase the mental alertness of the child. The main thing is not to overdo it with the dosage: a bright red wall in front of your eyes is overkill, juicy color accents are appropriate.
