What’s happening in the world of fashionable lamps? We tell and show.

Mushrooms style
One of the funniest trends in the world of interior lighting is mushroom table lamps, which have returned to fashion from the bohemian 1970s.

Today, fashionable “mushrooms” are made from ceramics, metal, stone, frosted and clear glass.

Birds
In 2023, birds flew into interior design. Today, images of birds appear on wallpaper, decorative pillows, curtains and furniture upholstery.

The world of lighting fixtures, in turn, demonstrated several variations of the trend: birds sitting on the “perch” of floor lamps or “floating” under the ceiling on chandeliers. These are conventional birds, more like origami, and realistic birds made of glass and ceramics.

Totems
Interior totems are another trend from the past. This time from the 1980s, famous for their geometric experiments in the Memphis style.
The Memphis group’s designers loved to create constructive collages and fun, non-functional objects that were reminiscent of both children’s toys and tribal totems.

These were usually sculptures and lamp bases made of wood, ceramics, stone and glass in bright contrasting colors or doll-like infantile shades.
Bold fashion is back, and the easiest way to get in on it is with a new table lamp.
Balls
Not so long ago, the main trend in the world of lighting fixtures was the so-called bubble lamps made of transparent multi-colored glass. The love for round shapes has not gone away, but the fashionable angle has shifted to white matte balls.

These can be table lamps on a minimalist base made of marble or brass, floor lamps that look like laconic street lamps, or chandeliers with globe-shaped shades. Such lamps take root in both neoclassical and minimalist interiors.

Rainbow
Perhaps the most fashionable shape in modern interior design is the U-shape. This can be seen in the designers’ love for arches, which has long gone beyond doorways. Niches, cabinet fronts, and chair backs tend to acquire an arched shape. Ceramic arched sculptures, vases and candlesticks are in fashion.
The bases or shades of fashionable lamps can be U-shaped. This could be a minimalistic arc table lamp or a spectacular chandelier consisting of several arcs at once – an interesting alternative to balls and plant forms.

Flowers and tree branches
Speaking of plant forms. Lamps that look like flowers and branches also do not lose popularity.

The trend is a deliberately frivolous ironic design, when flowers look more like children’s appliqués, and spectacular dramatic objects, such as the chandelier in the photo. Nature never ceases to inspire designers.
